Addiction doesn’t start overnight. 

It is often a process that quietly takes root in the brain’s reward system, a person’s emotional world, and their search for a sense of belonging. Risky behaviors that emerge, particularly during adolescence, are closely linked to the brain’s developmental characteristics, impulsivity, identity formation, the need for belonging, and difficulties with emotional regulation. This seminar will address the neurobiological foundations of addiction, early warning signs, common intervention mistakes made by families, protective parenting approaches, and current treatment methods. By integrating scientific data, clinical experience, and a psychodynamic perspective, this program is designed to will offer a comprehensive perspective to parents who wish to understand addiction within the context of human development and psychological structure, recognize early warning signs, and build healthier relationships with their children, as well as to mental health professionals interested in the subject.

“How did we end up so alone? With all these neighbors, all these friends, and in our homeland, where we’ve lived our whole lives—how did we end up so alone?”

Three different women from three different tragic periods in Turkish history. Muzaffer, a student of Manoli; Leman, a chemist prone to suicidal thoughts; and Medih, a modest seamstress. The stories of these three women, who ran small businesses in Beyoğlu and its surroundings, intersect through their relationships with Mariam Shahinyan—Turkey’s first female studio photographer, who, like them, was also a small business owner.
Shaped by the historical eras in which they lived—eras that defined their destinies and personalities— — sometimes struggle with the challenges of belonging to a minority, sometimes try to find their place in a male-dominated world, and sometimes simply long for love. The play, in which we bear witness to the story of each heroine’s alienation, offers a multifaceted perspective on the concept of “the other,” while also humorously exploring what it means to be a woman in different eras of Turkish history. The dynamic narrative world created on stage is accompanied by a photographic world generated by artificial intelligence, which complements this story.

"Bar Psychologist" is a psychology show in which a real, licensed psychologist addresses clichés in psychology and psychotherapy.

Ferhat Aydın, who has been on a continuous tour across 3 countries and 45 cities for 11 years, launched this "psycho-show"—the first of its kind in the world and one that could be considered a social entrepreneurship initiative—with the mindset, “Since you’re not coming to us, I’ll come to you”—a “psycho-show” format that is the first of its kind in the world and can be considered a form of social entrepreneurship—to address misconceptions and gaps in knowledge regarding mental health in our country, thereby striving to contribute to the field of “preventive and protective psychology.”
